About Us

We so wish our customers would have written this about us as we don't want to sound like blowing our own trumpet. You know what they say, self praise is no praise! 

But it's important for you to know a bit about us so here is a brief history and how we do what we do. We started off in 1993 at these very same high street premises we still operate from, as a childrenswear shop. 

Careful sourcing of good quality affordable merchandise coupled with below average mark ups and selling prices helped us to navigate the uncharted waters we found ourselves in. We didn't have a lot of passing trade, based where we are, so our core customer base was mostly local in the early years. But this proved to be an advantage. We got to know our regular customers and what they needed, and treating them as we would like to be treated, has helped to create the goodwill we now enjoy, and an enduring friendship with many a customer.

A local primary school asked us to stock their school uniform, which we did. Another one followed suit a year later and so the schoolwear side of the business began to develop. And now we are the official stockists for most of the local schools and some from further a field. 

Our ethos remains the same as in the beginning, careful sourcing of good quality, affordable merchandise.

We have good relationships with all of the UK's leading schoolwear manufacturers and brands. That gives both ourselves and our customers the assurance of good quality and service.

We are family owned and run, so we go the extra mile when it comes to customer service. We have always aimed to make a visit to our shop, a pleasant experience. Old fashioned meet and greet with a smile, listening carefully and helping them get what they came in for, with courtesy and in a quick, efficient and stress-free way.

Now, in this age of shopping from home or whilst on the move. We hope to carry on our fine tradition of quality and service into this, our online offering.

But of course, you can't get the smile, meet and greet online, so if you're ever in West Norwood, London, do please physically come into our shop.
